 Bishop Dermot Farrell

In a world that is becoming ever “busier”, books provide a gateway to evangelisation, Ossory’s Bishop Dermot Farrell has said.

His comments come after he was appointed as chair of Ireland’s leading religious publisher and retailer Veritas.

“It is good to be working [with] everyone at Veritas who for the past 120 years have been, in various forms, working to bring God and our knowledge of him, to people.

Essential

“Today, in a world that is ever busier, we need to continue to bring the word of God to life and the work of Veritas is an ever more essential part of this in the Irish Church,” Dr Farrell told The Irish Catholic.

“Evangelisation in all its forms is at the heart of what we do: we long to make a loving God known to people.”
